Hi Jan

The reason I asked is I can have another wander again and as it is now an older stone I can eliminate quite an area of the yard.

Cheers

Hi Stuart

My Friend has not got back to me so I went back to look for the email he send after visiting Neilston Cemetery
Here is some names of the Thorpe gravesstones
Elizabeth Thorpe
Jonathan Thorpe , Ellen Edgar Thorpe and other family members.
I would walk along the main road and when I came to a Celtic Cross with the name Thorpe on it , I turned right and then 2nd left.
so hope it helps if you go back to the Cemetery
Cheers Jan

Hi Jan

I'll take another wee look tomorrow for you, just one question though? does that mean there are two Thorpe stones?

i.e the one with the Celtic Cross and then the one which is 1st right then 2nd left or am I missing something. What are you after from the stone? is it the dates etc or a photo? or probably both.

Hi Stuart
Here is a copy of the email I was send

( Elizabeth Thorpe ) grave and to locate it , I would walk along the main road and when I came to a Celtic Cross with the name Thorpe on it , I turned right and then 2nd left.
Remembering this today , I decided to stop and read the names.
It turns out it is Jonathan Thorpe , Ellen Edgar and other family members.
Ian

So I take it there is one stone with Jonthan and Ellen ( My G Grandparents) and might be more and plus the Celtic Cross I have not got a clue who is buried there at the Celtic Cross but could you take a picture of it and then I can see if it my family
Cheers Jan
Good luck
Thanks so much for this

Jan,

There are a few large Edgar stones which I remember from the other day but let's see what tomorrow brings.

Cheers

Hi Stuart

I have a lot of Edgars in my family if you don't mind taking some pic of the Edgar gravestones and if I have the names and dates I can work out if it is my Edgar family
It is a bit easier with the Thorpe names as they are not many Thorpes in Scotland so any stones with the name thorpe in Neilstone is a very good chance that is my Family
Cheers Jan

Hi Jan

Well I found the big stone and don't quite know how I missed it on the first visit. It's a beauty and very impressive. Lots of names on the stone but I've been called out to a fault and need to go to Cambletown so I'll send you all the details later. I've got some pictures also, send me a pm with your email and i'll pass them on to you or if you want I can post them here for you. I didn't have time to look for the other stone because of the callout but we'll get it.

Cheers
