Hi AnneM,

I have just been having fun trying to download the image for the birth of Ann's child. Took me 30 minutes faffing about as it wouldn't download.

I am now going to try and download the marriage for her and William Mills, fingers crossed that this one goes more smoothly.

Thanks again for the help from you lovely people!

Kind regards,
Calmar

Her 2nd? marriage shows up too, if you haven't got that one I'd look at it, it should tell you if she was a widow or a spinster - in the later case it would mean that she never was married to William's father.
She was a Widow on her marriage to William Brember, so that sorts that one out.

Hi Calmar

Always set your preferences on SP to direct download. Have you found the death of husband no 1? You might want to try 1900.

Hi Anne,

I run Mozilla and the message said that some people were having trouble downloading. So I changed to IE and everything went OK from there.

1st husband died in 1900 and I also found her death cert, and birth cert for her son, so iI am pleased with all that info.

I am told by a connection to my tree that her 2nd husband had been married 3 times before her!! Don't think I will bother with all those. :)

Regards,

Calmar

How much info do you have from the earlier censuses? I can't see either of them in 1891 in Scotland or in England. May be missing an obvious transcription.

William is findable in Glasgow in the 2 earlier ones. His mother seems to have been born in Belfast.

Anne,

I only have a limited amount of info for him and his parents.

His father was Peter Brember born 1821 Alva Stirlingshire
Mother Eliza Oliver born 1839 Alva. **Date change!

They are on the 1881 census in Dollar with more children.

William marriied again after Annie's death!

A neat little example here of so much on a death register entry depending on the informant.

The informant for William BREMBER's death was his brother G BREBNER of 235 Glasgow Road, Clydebank, who, one would think, would know all about his sisters-in-law!

Weel, not quite, as he only names Barbara BROWN (m. 1894) and Mary ANDERSON (m. 1921), so was the airbrushing of Annie RAE/MILLS deliberate or just accidental ?

BTW, it is the correct William BREMBER, - parents Peter BREMBER and Elizabeth BREMBER MS OLIVER ...

Based on his likely year of birth, there's only one matching death record for Peter BREMBER.

Well MB, that is very interesting info you have found and I thank you very much for it. Does it give the year of his death please?

I got the info about the other marriages from another source that was recorded in their tree. I was a bit sceptical about all the marriages and was going to research into that another time when I had found him on the earlier census pages.

Why did the brother not give the 2 later marriages I wonder. Did William keep them secret! Funny things, families! :(

Kind regards,
Calmar
