Fay if it's difficult to read because of the condition of the certificate then you can contact SP & ask for a more legible copy.To do that just go to the page on SP eg where your searches are & click the "Contact Us" part.It should then give you a list of reasons & just click on the illegible entries & fill in the details-no,year,names etc.
They are pretty prompt in replying.If it's that you can't read thehandwriting then post here & we will all have a go at deciphering it.

Hi Fay
Got a reply from SP with an attachment with the correct image.

James Beveridge, wright in Crossgates and Betty Mitchel his wife had a daughter born 5th of June baptised and named Euphan, Witness's Cowan? Galloway and Alexander Hosthow?

So LDS got the place wrong as they have it as Crossford where I stay but it's Crossgates a village at the other side of Dunfermline.
I'll have a look at my Montgomery's to see if there's any matches.

Hello Joette & Roy, Thanks for the offer joette but I don't fell confident yet to try and upload it, I have scaned cert onto computer and almost sure it is Aitken the rest is ok, thanks for your help Roy regards fay
