As I have found doing my own research Donald can also be called Daniel. I don't think that the 1841 census Donald died and 10yrs on the family called him Daniel.

the next census has a James for the ages and doesnt seem to be a Daniel or Donald , and in 1862 Frances has David and James and their ages ,
and in USA done as David and James , maybe a James Daniel , who knows ,
lol at the wedding , still got a list to get and my case seems to be full , so things going to have to come out as dont have my clothes for the Wedding day on ,
guess i will need to wear a lot in the plane going over hahaha will be the Roly Poly Lady hahaha
