Hi David

Stumbled across this post on google whilst searching for further information about the death of Peter Kelly (my partner's great great grandfather). You mention Peter was the brother of your wife's great grandfather. Would you be willing to share some details and let me know about his brother or any other siblings you may have found?

Cheers

Jo

There’s a report in the Glasgow Herald, Dec 11, 1901, but it may be the same as The Scotsman. It’s towards the bottom of column 5 on page 8
http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=G ... =frontpage

To get a printable copy you’ll have to Zoom right in and press your Print Screen key. Edit/Paste the image into Paint, or similar, and use the Selection Tool to select the area you want. Again on the Edit Menu click copy. Next in a Word Document Edit Menu click Paste and save it with a descriptive name. That’s just one of many ways to do it.

Hi Alan, I am having a problem saving this.I have never used the print screen button before, and nothing happens when i press it.My daughter is trying to find a way around it,but no luck so far.The Herald article is interesting because it explains the Father saying Goodbye to the younger Son and that being enough to alarm his wife to send one of the boys after him.The RCE then tells us that Peter was last seen alive in someone else's house on 29th Nov .It was over a week later that ,he was found in the burn.Tragic,Thanks again Alan

Hi Jo,I apologise for the confusion,in my original topic on Patrick,I said he was a brother of a Great Grandfather .That was incorrect. At the time i wrote that i was getting information from a distant family member, and my head got a bit scrambled with it all.Now that the dust has settled and i have worked on some of the info.I can tell you Peter Kelly 1855-1901 was my Wife Helen Kelly's Great Grandfather. So your Partner and My Wife share a Great Grandfather, who unfortunately came to a sorry end.I do not know how much or how little research you have done if any,but if you can give details of what you know etc i will try and fill in some of the gaps.Who was your Granfather etc,David :?

When you press Print screen, or sometimes Alt + printscreen, it copies what's on screen to the windows clipboard, and you then have to Paste it into a Word document. It can be magnified if necessary using the zoom control. Hope that helps.

Hi David

Peter is my partner's 2x great grandfather, his son Hugh Pollock Kelly is my partner's great grandfather. From his marriage certificate to Jane, I know his parents were a Patrick Kelly and Elizabeth White, and that his mother re-married. Not 100% to who, but think it may have been a Charles Woods?

I have no idea when Peter's father died.

I have no idea of Peter's exact birth date.

I have no idea if he had any brothers or sisters, though I think he may have had a brother Edward if i'm correct about his mother and Charles Woods.

I have his and Jane's children as follows:

Elizabeth, Peter, Annie, Hugh Pollock Kelly b. 7.10.1887, James and Edward. No exact birth dates as of yet except for Hugh, just approximates from finding them on the censuses.

I obviously have further details about who Hugh married etc. I have James down as marrying an Annie Brown in 1911 in Lochore.

I know after Peter's death, Jane married a William Vickers in 1904, and died in 1923 in Lochore.

Hope you're able to fill in some gaps.

:P
