Photos and Info about old churches

Greetings from New Zealand.

I stumbled upon Gerry BLAILIE's excellent photos and old maps on his web pages, including www.scotcities.com

When I approached him about permission to crib some of his images to illustrate where our folks came from, I found him very obliging. I commented that I could just see my G Grand father playing, as a boy, in the White Cart (stream) at Linn, now part of Linn Park. He came back that as he lived at Cathcart, and often rambled with the camera, if I wanted a special image, to give him a try. An offer I was not expecting - and really appreciated. (Just thought he was a Glasgow inner city boy.)

Old courtesies, and politeness, go a long way, but all too often forgotten these days.

He granted me permission to use his images (non commercial) free of charge, which I really appreciate, as I am uncertian if I will ever make it to Scotland, and there are other family, for a number of reasons, likewise placed.
