P.S. Did you see them in 1851 in Aberdeen as Fritz Bimisdorfir and Josephe Bimisdofer? He was an "Artert"

Those 2 census records were enough for me! :D

Glad I'm not related even though they seem a very interesting couple.

Best wishes,
Annette

I wonder if she was the Josephine Frederick who won 1st prize for her Bedcovers (knitted and crocheted) in 1888 at the Aberdeen Industrial and Art Exhibition? :D

I thought this might prove interesting just because of the name. I even searched for a Beames, Dover, England thinking that it might be a miss transcription and found nothing.

According to the city council records there were 19 burials in this grave. Five member of the Still family who are most likely relatives of mine and one Milne are the only names that I recognize. The earliest burial was 1863 and the latest 1878. Three Stills died right in a row in the fall of 1866, one in 1865 and one in 1874 within a week or so of the Milne burial. With 15 unrelated burials over a 15 year span, I don't see how this could be a family lair so I'm wondering if there weren't community lairs set aside to accomodate people who couldn't afford a family lair? I don't see another name on the list that looks like an Anglicized foreign name. They are all just common Scottish/English names.

Carol :D
Looking for: Clerihew, Longmuir/Longmore, Chalmers, Milne, Barclay in Newhills,
Munro, Cadenhead, Raitt, Ririe/Reary

In 1851 Fritz and Josephe Bimisdorfir (both married, presumably to one another) [indexed as Birnisdorfir on SP], and Elizabeth and Berreit Huber were all lodgers at the same address in Un. St., Aberdeen (presumably Union Street).

From Ancestry's transcriptios:

Marg Gordon 30
Robt W Kilgour 39
Patrick Cooper 28
Elizabeth Hubers 50 Austria
Benoit Hubers 9 Austria
Fritz Bimisdorfir 32 Artist, Bavaria
Josephe Bimisdofer 30 Austria
Sinclair Munro 20

All the best,

AndrewP
