Yes Sarah, this is my George. My copy though is the original so didn't realise there was a "Bingle" for them too! This is the only real evidence I have for the entire family. A starting point at least.

Could I ask, where are you getting your info from so quickly? I do use Ancestry.com but did not find this on there. I knew I'd get some help on this forum. :D

Edit: Yes I have found this now on the Ancestry.com 1851 census. I had searched and searched for this but obviously the Bingle thing got me.
Researching: Pringle, Scott, Bowis/Bow, Halkett, Ballantyne to name a few.

The advantage to the Ancestry transcriptions of the Scottish censuses, odd thought they sometimes are, is that you can search for an occupation. That made George easy to find :D I wish the other censuses were also searchable by occupation-- what a help that would be!
