I wonder if he was related to Robert Condie, the murderer and changed his name so he wouldn't be associated with him.

I just found that! strange, ok I think I've got the 1891 cenus - barlinnie prisoner robert condie wrong... but i know the name was changed from Condie to Fraser at some point after JAN 1907 and before AUG 1921. And a huge thank you to everyone who is helping me!!!!!!!

In 1911 there is a 13 year old George Condie? indexed as Cordie with grandparents in Dollar. I can't see their name as they are on the page before and I have run out of credits. Do please check that one Kirsty and put me out of my misery. He seems to have a sister Mary just a year older than him.

Got a nudge in the right direction from a dear old friend. He gave me the family location in 1901and as you can see they were already calling themselves Fraser by then.

Just got credits for scotlands people and checked the tip you gave me and it's not the right family the Grandparents are George W. and May Cordie but after checking dates again the condie grandparents were both dead and so was Mary Ann Fraser's father leaving only her mother as the surviving grandparent (i think, not 100% sure yet)...the earch goes on...
