Thanks, Jean,
I didn't look close enough at Alan's figures, but was just puzzled that the U.S. one was supposedly cheapest, whereas I had found it the most expensive the last time I renewed, so I went with .co.uk.

Cheers,
Sarah

Another option is to get a relative hooked on genealogy and split the cost.

My sister pays half of the cost. I get the subscription though because she is allergic to computers--so she tells me!

Hello Jean,

This is the page where I saw the US $179.40 rate on the US site, although you may see something completely different to what I’m seeing if you’re logged in. But you’re right, it is the introductory rate, the 35% saving label on the page that led to that one was obscured because of a quirk in the text zoom of my browser. Excuses, excuses, excuses ..... https://secure.ancestry.com/subscribe/w ... 48907&ts=1

Probably because I’ve never subscribed to Ancestry it doesn’t seem to display the US $299.40 rate for me anywhere.

The US and the UK are catered for with Introductory Offers but for Australian and Canadian sufferers there doesn’t appear to ‘officially’ be any such thing.

It’s a funny mix of things in the freebie. I’d like to be a fly on the wall when they dream these things up, although with my luck I’d probably get swatted.

All the best,
Alan

Sarah I'd say you done good! [cheers] On the other hand...Alan....Sadly I don't seem to qualify for any US discounts when clicking your link. :-({|= No worries....I wasn't trying to criticize the info you had posted so no need for excuses....I was only trying to find my way to the best deal going  Perhaps it's time for me to become an honorary UK citizen!

Best wishes
Jean
