OOP's - Apologies Ladies.

Post by Alan SHARP » Fri Jan 20, 2012 9:11 pm

Greetings All.

Oh how careful you must be. I'm a regular reader of both the RC and the TS forum threads, looking for ideas at hunting out obscure facts and hiding places of records that JUST MAY contain info about family connections in Scotland 200 years ago. I’m about at the stage when I should really be visiting the Mitchell, but live on the other side of the world. [Poor Relief & Session Minutes]

My mind is like a sponge, but at times it gets, me into trouble. The Australian Alan [Currie] posted in December and again replied the other day to discussion about FreeCen. On that thread I noted "Jean Jeanie" had had transcription experience for FreeCen, so in a PM sought advice about a census return that had several irregular points of interest.

Shortly thereafter a post was made by Carol [speleobat] about Fife Voting Lists becoming available. That very day I had been searching the Fife records, in an area of the country I’d never searched before, trying to further resolve the 1851 FreeCen issues. So I joined the thread asking if names of interest were included.

Deciding to revisit my PM discussions re the FreeCen transcribing I hastily sent off another PM with a link to the Fife search thread, NOT to “Jean Jeanie” but mistakenly to “Just Jean” another regular TS contributor.

Though confused, as well she might have been, JUST JEAN received my PM and put her considerable experience to work, and it was not long before together we had a case that FreeCen was only to happy to consider.

However in the mean time I’ve miss represented JUST JEAN as JEAN JEANIE with my emails to FreeCen. Apologies LADIES and please keep up your good works on our behalf.

Alan SHARP.

Hi all
I was a transcriber for freecen a while ago. It was an enjoyable time, but unfortunately work commitments took priority.
I fully recommend that those with some spare time do this.

Alan SHARP.

No worries from this TS member Alan. Jean Jeanie and I are old "namesake" buddies! I'm glad that the mixup got sorted out though. I was truly scratching my head at times!!!

For the record..this is the first day I've been able to log in to the forum in days!!. Earlier this morning my home computer remained persona non gratis but I'm at work now and this access point seems to have no problems.

Best wishes
Jean
