Trying to put things in to context as it's a total stab in the dark that he went abroad...I know where he was up until about 1921 then NOTHING!!!!????? Doesn't help he changed his name to avoid debt so who knows how many alias he had.

1851 - Living in Kilsyth
1871 - 1891 - Living Govan and Kinning Park
1889, June 14th - Married Mary Ann Fraser (03/01/1868 - 01/01/1907)
1901 - Living in Andeston Glasgow
1909, Feb - Living Campsie St Glasgow (Application for Poor Relief using name Robert Fraser)
Robert to Barnhill Work House, Children - Magdelene, Robert, Annie, George, William, Jeanie and Mary to Stobhill Hospital
1909, June - Living King St Govan
1909, Aug - Children back to Robert - address unknown
1921, Aug 23rd - Witness at marriage of son George Paterson Fraser and Elizabeth Miller Wortherspoon Meikle - 7 Bridgegate Glasgow
This is where the line goes cold ...
No idea where he was living or what happenend to him.
