I have books and cd's from Nova Scotia that have records for most of all the arrivals in Hants co. towns from in the 1700's and up. I also belong to the site of the NS Archives.
Bruce and his brother John according to land grants were awarded 500 acres adjoining their father , Patrick, who also had 500 acres on the north side of the Kennetcook River, in Hants co, NS
They had to arrived here sometime between 1767 and 1772 pos in Halifax and then on up to Rawdon or Douglas. My grandmother was born in Windsor, Hants co., NS and lived in Maitland, Hants co., NS and she and her son, my uncle told us a lot of her heritage.
I even have copies of letters to my grandfather from his grandmother in England with whom he live with after his mother drown.

Re: N. Dist. Shire of Inverness
Hi Dot
Working on the assumption that Patrick was born in N.Uist, then it may be the case that it will not be possible to find verification of this as the OPRs for that area do not hold any birth entries until
1801.
See:
http://www.scotlandspeoplehub.gov.uk/re ... -oprs.html
http://www.scotlandspeoplehub.gov.uk/pd ... 7to119.pdf
So unless some other information comes to light such as a similar book to the one you have already consulted "Two Loyalist Townships in Nova Scotia", it looks like it may be very difficult to get any further back, a situation that happens to all of us with family research once you get far enough back in time.
Best wishes
Lesley
