How do i go about finding my ancestor ?

Hi Carol,

Thanks for the support.
The problem i have about tracing Irish relations is not knowing how to go about doing this. It seems so different to tracing Scottish connections.
There is so many Irish sites offering this & that i just don't know where to begin.
Tried one site for a month and felt i had wasted my money as only validated some of the information that i already had.
On a brighter note have contacted someone on Genes...Ref : John Slaven.
Looks quite promising as area and year date seem too match. Hopefully they will be able to fill in some of the gaps and with a bit of luck maybe get connection to Carr.
Will keep you posted on results.

Rob,

If you haven't already done this, go to the main Forum page, scroll down to the bottom and look for Ireland. Click on it and you will find the TS information on searching Irish records and all the threads from those of us who have asked questions! There is a ton of experience there to learn from!

Hi All,
Just an update on what i have found lately.
Still searching for Patrick Slaven.
Bridget is a different matter.
Bridget Carr born 24/12/1903.
Married Thomas McLaren (boiler maker) 03/05/1921.

Bridget Slaven or McLaren (widow).
Married Alexander Brown Carr ( Steelworker),divorced, on 27/12/1950.
Don't think there is any connection with this Carr too previous census.
The McSorley name is probably a coincidence and nothing more.
