Thanks Lesley...and Ann, I probably would have agreed with whatever you said.
As for the rest of you...you have me in stitches - I'll have to check for Noah and his wife and see if I can find a passenger list for those Elefants and Giraphs and variations.

Ahh! Now I get it!We have an active filter on TS - if you type a sweary word it is converted to tut! tut!

Oh no, like Lesley said, I'd used a naughty word in my post (the 'B' word, meaning the stuff that comes from our veins). I was apologising for that. Why are you sorry and , Ann? It's not your fault I came across this nutter.
Great 'sweary word' gadget, by the way! I could probably do with one of them at home

Hi all
I had an expieience on Ancestry when I had a public tree, (not public anymore)
I came across some-one elses tree that had my deceased Brother including his wife, born 1938-1998 but born and died Lincolnhire, should be Lancashire, they also had my deceased Father born 1918 Lancashire died 1975, also had my deceased Grandad but he had according to them divorced my Gran & re-married then died in Wales, when he did in fact die in Germany.
I was really angry that some one had taken snippits of my tree and turned in into nightmare, I left 6 messages on their "contact me"and all were ignored.
I then contacted Ancesty with the facts and name of my tree and also the other party's tree name and eventually their tree was removed from the site.
I had no objection to sharing my family but I strongly objected to the abuse of my hard work.
I also notice on other tree's how many of them have no records or sources, I have 6,350 records and sources on my tree, are we in a minority ??

It's likely to be the case that some people only put bits 'n' pieces on public view and keep their real tree and sources private so that no-one can copy and paste the way they have done with your info.I also notice on other tree's how many of them have no records or sources, I have 6,350 records and sources on my tree, are we in a minority ??
Sad really!

Got another one today that looks like a pig's breakfast. I feel as though they can't even check the Census or they would see the wife has a different name and the people hail from some other place

I don't put all my sources on ancestry either, just the bare bones. After reading this post I think I will be making my tree private too, I have also come across someone using my tree and copying everything with out getting in touch, and who won't reply either!
