I agreee with the others who have written to you. Having done some work on the indexing of the Kirk Session Minutes I know how difficult it is to decipher someone else's handwriting. I do think perhaps folk who complain should try doing a similar job themselves.
best wishes
Maureen :)

Another thought.

Way back 25 years ago when I was very conscious of my relative lack of knowledge, for 4 Xmas/New Years in a row, I offered a free look up/problem solving/brick wall breakthrough service, on a genealogy bulletin board, the name of which I can not now remember. Remember dial up access at low speeds ?........

I then lived just outside Edinburgh and was quite happy to invest 3 or 4 days of my time, as I knew that I would learn a lot.

I found that I could handle around 50 queries in those 3 or 4 days.

Every one of those queries had been acknowledged and confirmed, sometimes expanded, by a further exchange of emails before I added them to my list.

The first disappointment was that, despite considerable info of great value often being supplied, around 25% of folk didn't see it as necessary to email a simple thanks.

The second, and major disappointment were the outright abusive emails from a few, when I hadn't been able to find any helpful info, despite the obvious fact that such unsuccessful searches took a disproportionate amount of my time, the latter having been made clear in my reply as regards the extent of the records consulted.

C'est la vie.
