The George Paterson Condie of 1870 is my grandfathers uncle, I think he was obviously named after him I hadn't realised he had died when only 18 I will check that out tonight. I would need to double check all my birth certs but I'm 98% sure all of Robert and Mary's children where registered Condie at birth, and yes Roberts father (William Condie) remarried approx 3 years after his mothers death (Jane Orr) his step mother was Ann McMinn - William Condie and 2nd wife Ann McMinn had 4 children as far as I can tell - Rolene Condie 1857, William Condie 1867, George Paterson Condie 1870 and John Condie 1871.
Oh and my grandfather George Paterson Condie/ Fraser was born: - George Condie 5th Sept 1897 Cathcart but his headstone reads George Paterson Fraser died 22 Sept 1958. HIs final resting place Bishopton, Renfrewshire.
Thanks everyone once again!
