Just after 8:15 pm NZ time and tried my usual favourites entry, only to get the fatal message. Googled "FAQ TalkingScot " and clicked on link provided, it took a while before a successful link was made, to that page, and once there was able to click the log-on icon, and gain full acces. Only to find the poor access has left me with few new posts to read. Alan SHARP.

So far (touch wood!) I've had no problem accessing the site but, as Alan says, there are so few new posts to read :( .

Best wishes,
Meg

Hi Meg,
Just to help with the diagnosis, are you automatically logged in from your computer and never log out? It seems that it is at the point of logging in and out where the problems occur. I never log out and have had no problem accessing the site this whole time.

[cheers]

I'm not that Meg but I have tried my work pc (Vista, IE7) and laptop (XP, Firefox 3.6) and my main home pc (W2K, Firefox 9/10), both pc set to auto logon, laptop not. Until a week ago I had two weeks of not being able to log on from work and being able to log on at home. Touch wood, it is working at work for the moment. So for me it was more location or time (daytime v evening/weekend) than OS, Browser or auto logon.

Yes, Sarah, I access from my favourites and never log out.
It's certainly an odd problem isn't it?
Mind you I expect Andrew has another word for it!
Best wishes,
Meg

But he's much too polite to say it on the forum  Poor man has been working away on it every spare minute he has away from his full-time job... I'm sure in the end all will be well and we'll have a better site for his efforts.

All the best,
Sarah

Hi,

Like Sarah and Meg I'm automatically logged in from my computer and never log out. So far (touching lots of wood) I haven't had any problems accessing the site. I usually check posts at lunchtimes Monday to Friday.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards..........Christine

I never log out, and so far (touch wood) haven't had any problems accessing the site. I was wondering if it was just those outside of the USA that were having the problem.
