Great reference you found on the Methodist history. Well worth a trip to NAS I would say!

At least the will has pretty much sided with the fact of your rellie being a Thomas or commonly known as one by his father. I'm not so certain that the children were born in England anymore are you?

Yes I think they were born in Glasgow not England.

Probably they reason for not finding anything on SP was the church was not
a conventional institution.
Have to get through to NAS in Edinburgh see I can gleam anything from their records. Best Wishes - Rantskew

Just to be on the safe side, order the documents you wish to see a few working days ahead of your visit. Not all records are held in the main buildings, some need to be ordered in advance. (saves disappointment...been there, done that...

)

You will need photo ID too if you do not already have a valid readers ticket. see:

Good News! Finally had an email this morning from GROS and I have seen the correct Barony marriage image. Interestingly enough your John Graham was described as a block cutter when he wed Ann Haddow. Hope you're making good progress with the search for births amongst the Methodists!

Thanks for that info. My Thomas was described as a Block Cutter before being described as a Muslin Designer/Designer so assume he got into textile trade because of his father. Will see if I can download the image tonight, I presume its now the correct image?

Waiting for my cousin to have a look at the Mitchell for births/baptisms
of Thomas and his siblings. kind regards, Rantskew.

No luck with NAS records, the records are accounts for the church

Also no luck at the Mitchell, the archivist check the records manually and there was nothing, she reckoned the were lost, I believe the church burned down so have another brickwall regarding Thomas's birth records.

Awh sorry to hear to that......you were on such a roll!!! At least you did get to positively add a few more names to the database. Perhaps you'll now get lucky and find some living descendants you previously didn't know existed. Genealogy tends to bring out the explorer gene in me....seek out new rellies and new civilizations....to boldly go.....
