Yes, I'm sure lots of people eat haggis. I've only had it twice! It is like a big spicy sausage and I found it quite palatable, although, I'm not a big eater and keep anything spicy to a very small portion. It's good though!

Hi Wilma and Anne,

Since you two like it, I wonder why my mother and my aunt said that they didn't like it. I know that they both liked sausages. Obviously they must have eaten them at some time when they were in Scotland.
As my genealogical research proves, they come from a long line of Scots.

I remember one day when I was little, that a friend of my mother told her that a restaurant in one of the stores in Montreal (I think that it was Ogilvy's) was serving haggis for a week. My mother told her that not only would she not go there to eat it, but would avoid the place because of it.

Tatties and Neeps were never served either. To tell the truth, I never heard about them until I them until I found the Talking Scot board.
I am assuming that Irn bru is scotch whiskey.

I feel kind of embarrassed. The Scotsman sent me an e-mail survey to test my knowledge of Robert Burns. I know that I did badly on the subject.

Goodness,Sheila...it's much better than scotch whiskey! It is to me, anyway.

The best haggis I ever tasted was in Melbourne Australia on Burns night we had a local butcher there who was a Scot and knew how to make it

I have eaten Haggis in Elgin Scotland but I think it must have been frozen before cooking as it was not nice at all

The Scotsman has also got a page on Facebook where you can upload your haggis hunt images I have uploaded some that I have found

Not not Whisky Sheila, they wouldn't serve that to the 5 year olds!

They have a glass of IrnBru for the 'Toast to the Lassies' [and the usually hysterical reply from the girls to the laddies, the 11 year olds have to compse these themselves], the wee tots try to drink it all the moment they get it and them are mystified when not 'toast' arrives to eat with it

Irn Bru is Scotland's other National Drink, and it was made here in Falkirk, and if you've never had either haggis or Bru you don't know what you are missing!

Hi Everyone

The temperature here in Southern California has been in the high 70's and 80's F. for over a week. It has been very warm and dry. :( I imagine that all of you people living in cooler climes feel sorry for me. :D
The truth is that I wouldn't mind some cooler weather and even some rain.

I haven't seen as many haggi lately as before. Yesterday I only saw 2 brown haggi. Most of the haggi that I have seen have been the golden ones. It is my understanding, correct me if I am wrong, that the brown haggi are the ones that are drawn for the one month pass and the calendars.
