'Roon an' Roon in Wee Circles!!

Post by Miss Poohs » Sun Jan 27, 2008 5:09 pm

and I'm no' gettin' anywhere.

Had a wee spot of bad luck today in that a death cert I thought maybe of some use to me was missing, and I only found out after it relieved me of my 5 credits

I've contacted SP so I'll see what they say - anyway, I'm huvin' a bit o' bother and I'm no' seein' the wood for the trees.

I'm hoping one of you guys might be able to come up with a fresh slant on this.

It's my darling husbands family that are the cause of problem - again

His great grand mother left/split/moved away from her first husband Thomas Hislop and took up with another Thomas, McLean this time, and they had 2 daughters.

The daughter I'm trying to find out about was Mary Jane McLean born 1894.

She married John McVicar Marshall 1917, by which time Mary Jane was known as Jeanie McLean.

Try as I might I can't find a death cert for her.

I thought if I could see her husbands death cert it might offer a clue, but it's coming up as a missing page, so nothing doing there.

Can anyone throw me a few suggestions for a further search?

You don't say where she lived but there is a death indexed at Dunbarton of a Jane McLean/Marshall born 1894 on SP. Have you tried that one? Hopefully you can confirm it by inserting the mother's maden name in the box.

Regards,
Annette

Nope that's not her, and just to add to the confusion, on the McLean/Marshall marriage cert, is states Jeanie's mother maiden name as Hyslop.

That entry for OK is for a JANET HENNEY McLean/Marshall so I reckon it's not the one I'm after.

What kind of genes does your husband's side have........?
Maybe she's still with us - she'd only be 104 !

Funnily enough there are a couple of right old burds in his tree - but I'm not sure how truthful they are being about their years!!!
