Trying to find a script

Post by AnnieMack » Mon May 19, 2008 9:16 pm

I once read a script for a play called something like 'The Windae Hingers' and try as I might I can't find it listed anywhere. Does anyone know of this, if I remember rightly it is a play with only three cast members and takes place with them looking out their windows from the tenement they live in and through the dialogue they tell us what it is like to live in Glasgow.

I'd love to get my hands on a copy but need to know the blinkin' name of it first :?

It could be worth contacting the Citizen's Theatre in Glasgow. I've never seen the play but have heard about it & my memory is that it starred Duncan Macrae & was at the Cits.

Any possible connection to the book “Oot the Windae” by David Reilly or is that much later? http://www.rampantscotland.com/poetry/b ... windae.htm

Hi Alan, I've looked at that book but it's a collection of poems. I have actually had this script on loan from a library in the 80's. If I knew the right name I might be able to track it down.

I might had to use the rule of Murphy's - give up looking for it, move on to something else and then I'll find the detail I need lol.
