Searching for all children in a marriage

Post by innjess » Tue Jun 24, 2008 4:26 am

Probably my own ignorance, but I am finding real difficulties in establishing all the names of children in a marriage. It seems easy enough to trace one child, particularly if one knows the name of the child, but I never seem to get all the children's names, when I fill in the names of the mother and father. Am I missing something basic?
As an example, I have been given (by Talking Scot) the names of the 10 children of James Hutchison and Elizabeth Crawfurd/Crawford, but can I get this list for myself? No way!
Anybody help??!!
Innes :?

Hi Inness,

When you bring up the page...
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/ ... _form=true
click on International Genealogical Research
On the right hand side is a section for Father's name.
Underneath his name enter the name of Mother.
Go down to Region and click on British Isles...no need for anything else.
Click Search...this will bring up all children for the couple.

If I recall, Elizabeth's surname will be spelt as both Crawford and Crauford...don't worry about that. You want the extracts rather than the submissions.

Regards,
Anne H
