MY BIG MISTAKE

Post by ELLEN 44 » Mon Jul 14, 2008 6:01 pm

Hi all TS members i would like to tell you all about my big mistake and to say sorry to all the people that help me look for the Smiths.Well here goes

I asked if you could help me find James Smith and Annie Stone all i had was that you called James mom Catherine Figgins wrong mother for James  the reason i know this is because i sent e-mail to Greenock Telegraph asking for there help to see if my dad had any family still in Greenock what a shock i had when someone got in touch with the Greenock Telegraph saying she was my dad's cousin so i rang her and found out a lot of stuff about my dad's family we got on about me trying to find the Smith's side of the family she told me my grannie (Elizabeth Smith) and her mom (Nora Smith) were sisters. So i went on SP and found Nora's birth on it was James Smith Marriage to Annie they got married in Ireland in 1894 my dad's cousin also told me when James died so i got that off SP to it says his parent were James Smith and Mary Clark  so once again thanks to all that helped me find the wrong parents for James (my mistake) not TS MEMBERS. I wonder how many others have gone off down a likely looking track to find out(after downloading umpteen certificates :? :( ) that its the wrong one.

I think part of the trick, is knowing when to question where/when you may have gone wrong; and another part is to backtrack successfully to that fork in the road

Hi Ellen

You might have made a mistake in the beginning. Don't we all. I know that I have. But in the end you got the correct people. That is a success!
Good for you! :D
