Hi All
Maybe some of you have heard that there will be a new President of the United States come January.
How much do you want to bet that whoever becomes President, Obama or McCain, that some Genealogist will announce that the new president is a descendant of some English King, or some other important person from the past.
I remember that Nixon was stated by some Genealogists, to be related to the current Royal Family, and a direct descendant of Julius Caesar!
Whether Nixon believed this or not, is something else.
Regards

Hi Sheila,
You may not know that the New England Historic Genealogical Society has already done the research!

Hi Sarah
Thanks for the link, I didn't know about it. I looked them up. They even seemed to be legit.
I am disappointed though, I was hoping to find a relationship for one of them to Henry v111, Alexander the Great, or King Tutankhamen .

Hi Sheila,
According to that site
Barrack Obama is related to
Winston Churchill

and Winston is related to Royalty through the Spencers!
I guess if we dig deep enough we are all Cousins !!!

Sometimes it’s better not to know. I’m just thankful I don’t have a single politician on my tree or a hereditary institution either.

Hi Sarah,
Great link, I can just see Barrack heading out to a local bar with his cousin William (Brad) Pitt for a game of pool. Now I'm wondering if I'm related to the presidential candidate, everyone else seems to be ! :D
Nice one!

More than legit, Sheila! They have one of the most extensive genealogical libraries in the country and have incredibly knowledgeable and helpful employees to help you make the most of your time. The collection is mostly focussing on New England, but there is lots of other stuff as well. If you get over to Boston, it is definitely worth a few days visit! Last time I was there I amassed a mountain of data that I have still not found time to digest...
All the best,
Sarah

Hi Sarah
I believe that you are right about the New England Genealogical Society.
I would love to visit them in Boston.
What I am waiting for is to find out what the not so legitimate 'Genealogists' come up with later. The ones that make great leaps of faith in joining people's ancestors together.
Regards
Sheila

Hi Sheila,
Call me and we'll do lunch, the JFK Library and the Massachusetts Archives...

Maybe some day. That would be so much fun.
