I have a Davina Devine (great name!) born late 1890s. I've found details of her birth - parents James Devine and Jane Thomson. Also she is listed on the 1901 census, but after that nothing.
I've been searching for ages but can find no record anywhere of a marriage or a death.
Does anyone have any ideas please as to what I might try?
I'm hoping to have a (very short) visit to Stirling and Glasgow later this year, but mainly my research is done via internet.
Many thanks, Bernadette

Hello Bernadette,
On SP there appears to be a female Devine Devine born 1900 who died at age 80 and another female Devine Devine born 1903 who died at age 88. Possibly both spinsters as I can’t see a marriage there of a Mr Devine to a Miss Dev or Dav anything.
Any chance either one is yours?
I did notice a couple of Davina Devine events in District of Tynemouth in 1910 and 1917 on FreeBMD. Maybe there’s some connection. http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl
Hope this helps,
Alan

Many thanks Alan
I'll investigate these when I visit Scotland later this year and look at the records in the Mitchell. Can anyone advise please if I need to book a 'place' to search records? I'm only going to be in Glasgow for 1 day so want to make the most of my time there. Also does anyone know if there are staff available to point in the right direction of records etc, or do I need to do some research before I start my research? !!
