There is evidence of a "Hutchison" (no Forename), whose birth is registered in "Edinburgh City/Midlothian". However, although a GROS number is quoted, under "Image" it states "No Image".
I wonder why this would be so? Does this mean that it would not be legible, and that what I can read in the OPR Births & Baptisms Search Returns is the most that I can expect?
Thanks for any help!

Hi Injess
What year is the record you ae looking for?
See:
http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/conte ... x.aspx?211
If it is an OPR record it may be that it has not been possible to produce a satisfactory image. Rememebr that all OPR records can be viewed on Microfilm. If you are not in Scotland, you can order any microfilm from your nearest LDS centre, which, if you have a few family members in the same area, or several children being born, can not only be more cost effective as you can see the whole OPR, but also lead to much more information.
You could always sent a contact form to SP and ask... they may be able to tell you why for that particular record and/or may be able to acquire an image.
Best wishes
Lesley

Hello Innes,
Is the birth the one mentioned at the end postings on this thread/
http://talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ght=#93664
They were the babies who appear to have died not long after birth and before they were due to be baptised. It looks like St Cuthbert’s was one of the Parishes which bothered to record deaths.
Because the image appears likely to be a combined birth and death maybe there was special processing required and the image wont be due to appear on SP until the OPR deaths appear there before too much longer.
Maybe that’s it but I’m only guessing,
All the best,
Alan
