Out of the mouth of babes

Post by marilyn morning » Wed Mar 25, 2009 11:22 pm

Too adorable not to share

My sister called me today and she couldn't stop laughing to get the words out and before I knew it I was laughing right along with her, only I had no idea what we were laughing about?

She said

Her son called and said

He took his three year daughter to the park this morning and on their way he told her that they were stopping by the cemetery, to drop some flowers off to his father. This was her first trip to the cemetery and Sean didn’t know how she would react?

They walked hand and hand to the gravesite and arranged the flowers in the vases. When they were finished and started to walk away, she stopped and asked where his father was and Sean pointed to the grave. She looked up to him and said

“Daddy, I didn’t know your father was a stone”

That's so sweet Marilyn. Children they just tell it like it is.
My little bro(Happy Birthday Tommy) was just 4 when my Daddy died when we would visit the cemetery he would sit on the grass over Dad's grave & shout
"I'm sitting on your knee Daddy can you hear me"?
"Daddy's telling me a story"
For years he would talk about how Daddy could now drive & he had a car in Heaven & that he came back at night & took him for a drive.
We were really spooked -he would have us peering out the bedroom window to "look" at Daddy's car-it was always a blue one.

Hi Anne & Joette

Priceless sums it up nicely

My father had a boat while we were growing up and he would always let my younger brothers steer the boat, once it was out to sea. When our father passed away my youngest brother was only 12 and for years he would tell me about the dream of him & our father driving down the middle of the highway in the boat.
