Post by Justjan » Fri May 01, 2009 5:03 pm

hi Annette
the Fanny Cameron one tells a few interesting things , sadly nothing has been found on Charles and not sure if i should leave it , or try do it sometime this year , lol
anyway
Fanny lived at looks like 78 Back Wynd ? her country of birth is down as 116 Green Street Backland ?
she spplied for poor relief on oct 1862 , due to an injury from a fall ,
her Husband Robert had been dead 10 years , he was born Balfron
Elizabeth 25 , born in Sivergrove , her Brother David the same and Brother James Bridge gate bother Brother were in America in 1862 ,
nothing exciting really , although we know there is others to look for ,-at some stage ,

thanks for these Annette ,
not sure where to go from here with this , and a pity nothing can be found on Charles Stewart ,
looking at the births of the children , there is a big gap between Janet and Grace , so think there might be a few missing from there , or maybe before Janet ,
i know twins were born and didnt live long , and from the stories we were told i think these must have been after 1905 ,way my Mum was talking ,
she did say there was a few babies that were born dead , and some didnt live long ,
would these Babies been reg way back then ?

If the children were stillborn it wouldn't have been registered but those who lived, even for a short while, would.

To look for all of James's children after 1901 on SP would be a nightmare unless they were mentioned in his poorhouse application - then you should have their dates of birth.

1911 isn't too far away!! :)

Annette

think the twins lived , as i remember my Mother talking about them being small and how they were kept warm due to their size ,so she has had some memory of that , dont know where the little still born ones came in the ages or years , just know there was some , it is a nightmare in SP i have tired , cant even get Janets death as yet , just the ones i mentioned are on the application , and thats before my Mums birth ,
wonder if they ever tried again for poor relief , as my Mum was in some hospital for a long time with ? forgotten what , but know it was something like months and it was Glasgow ,my Brother would know the hospital but hes off on holidays now , just wondered how they could keep sp many children and pay for one in Hospital and the deaths of 2 little girls without help ,
but my brain is ticking over - just not getting far lol
