Hi Fay,
I assume this is Lawrence and Catherine in 1851 and 1861:

1851
Queen Anne St, Dunfermline, Fife
Laurence Paton, 21, Head, born Dunfermline, Fife, Hand Loom Weaver
Catharine Paton, 20, Wife, born Dunfermline, Fife

1861
Martyrs Place, Dunfermline Burgh, Fife
Laurence Paton, 31, Head, born Dunfermline, Fife, Linen Damask Weaver
Catherine Paton, 30, Wife, born Kirkcaldy, Fife
Catherine Paton, 2, Daughter, born Dunfermline, Fife

Did they have an other children besides Catherine?

Who are Catherine Beveridge's parents? It looks like her death in 1869 in Dunfermline. What happened to the child(ren)?

Just wondering how far you have been able to trace back Catherine's Beveridge family, in order to try to link it to Euphemia's.

All the best,
Sarah

In 1841 there is a James Beveridge, shoemaker age 40 living with the Paton (Patten) family. He is still alive and living at Dunfermline in 1861. Would it be worth trying to find his death and see what it gives for his parents names assuming :? that he is Euphemia's brother?

Looks like Catherine died at Dunfermline in 1868.

Regards,
Annette

Hi Fay
I don't know if any of this will help.
5th June 1806 Euphan/Euphemia Beveridge born to James Beveridge and Betty Mitchell at Crossford Dunfermline. On LDS this Euphan/Euphemia married James Paton in 1827.
The different name spellings for Euphemia are quite common and in the Dunfermline area there must be at least 6 different spellings for Beveridge.
I tried a look at the opr on SP for the birth in 1806 but it is not on the page that comes up so a contact form will have to go in.
I also had a look for John Beveridge and Margaret Fotheringham and couldn't find them. This could be just the wrong information from whoever was the informant for the death.
Aw the best and happy huntin'
Roy.

Hi Fay
The son being called John means the name is in the family. I'll put a contact form in for the 1806 birth to SP and let you know whats on it.
Can I also ask about your Montgomerys. I have a Matthew Montgomery at Bowhill in Fife, but the rest of mine are Airdrie, Cumbernauld, Lesmahagow, New Monklands.
The Montgomerys are from my maternal grandmothers side, she was Helen Findlay Montgomery.
Aw the best and happy huntin'
Roy.

Morning Roy, Just want to thank you for your time with this I don't know what a contact form is, I looked last night and found the betty Mitchell one and also another name william so will look into that I have enough credits for one cert on SP so here's hoping I get the right one. Re spelling should've thought of that as when I started last year could'nt find Montgomery because of that. My Grt Granfather was Adam Montgomery born 1876 Old Monkland Father John Mother Helen Steel Adam went to work and stayed in Cowdenbeath coalminer, My Gran was Annie Paton Montgomery. One other thing re the Paton name James Paton Married to Euphemia his death cert has his parents as Lawrence Paton Tailor Mother Margaret M/S Cameron found there marriage in 1789 they had 7 children got them. thanks again for your help much appreciated regards fay
