West Linton School Centenary

Post by maggiehill » Sat May 30, 2009 5:17 pm

West Linton School is celebrating its anniversary in June and all Lintonians expats are welcome to attend.

12th June Centenary Day

School staff and pupils are organising a number of activities, exhibits and displays to mark the occasion. Visitors will have the opportunity to have a tour of the school on a 'normal working day' (well, kind of normal!) anyone who has an interest in West Linton School (former pupils, ex-staff, parents, anyone) will be made very welcome.

Open times: 9.15am – 10.15am; 11.00am – 12noon; 1.30pm – 2.30pm

Sat 13th June West Linton School Centenary Exhibition

The School Centenary Group and West Linton Historical Association will host a unique exhibition of 'photographs through the years', mementos, memorabilia etc. As interest continues to grow, this event is beginning to take on more and more of a ‘Homecoming’/ reunion feel to it.

Open times: 10.00am - 1.00pm

Hi Anne

It was a very interesting day not only seeing some of my cousins I have pictures of my mother that I have never seen before. I am glad we travelled up from England to see the exhibition.

I also have photographs of her brothers and sisters and shool registers for when they started and left school.

My mother was the school DUX in 1930.

Regards

Maggie
