In Edinburgh part of next week - and Edinburgh coppersmiths

Post by jennyblain » Sat Aug 01, 2009 1:40 pm

Dear all,
I'm planning to have a few days in Edinburgh - anybody want to meet up?

On the coppersmiths: these are Robert Bell in Edinburgh and his son Nicol Bell in Leith in the 18th century. They probably have only a tangential relationship to my line but I've some information on them. Robert Bell was apprenticed in Edinburgh in 1722, became a burgess in 1740, and his son Nicol became burgess by right of his father in 1770.

Let me know if the names ring a bell :) and I can share what I've found.

Jenny

Hi Jenny
Hope you find some Bell contacts to share the research with.

Best wishes
