Music - Radio 3 - James VI's court

Post by jennyblain » Mon Aug 17, 2009 10:57 pm

Just discovered this - BBC Radio 3 has its 'Composer of the Week' series this week on the court of James VI. The first part was on today from 12-1, but it's on 'listen again' via the Radio 3 i-player at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... hven_Raid/

(You can get there also by going to www.bbc.co.uk/Radio3 and looking for 'how to listen' and 'listen again'.)

The first part was on 'The Ruthven Raid', the period when the very young James, just beginning to rule (as a young teenager) was held prisoner at Ruthven Castle. I haven't yet heard all of it, because my connection was acting up earlier this evenng. The series continues over the next four days - but it goes south rather quicker than James did.

Hi Jenny,

Sounds interesting but it doesn't seem to work for me here in Florida...funny that, I thought I could listen to all BBC radio programmes, but apparently not.

Regards,
Anne H

My apologies, Anne - that second url should be http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/ (no capital R) - you might do better going via that an searching it out.

Hope you can get access!
