Edinburgh and Borders trip

Post by jennyblain » Tue Aug 18, 2009 10:44 am

Got North recently and had a great week in Edinburgh and the borders. In the course of this, I spent a couple of days in the City Archives in Edinburgh (open Tues. and Thurs only) going through various records which included... (ta-ra..) Minute books of the Incorporation of Tailors of Leith. I've posted something about this in the 'work' category.

I was at Costorphine Trust and met Frances and some other lovely friendly people, and found out a bit more about my (possible) Costorphine lot.

There are some images from the Borders and from Edinburgh (though not Costorphine) and east Lothian on my Facebook site - the photos are 'public' so here they are.

Hi Jenny
Looks like you had a great trip with lots of successful research time. I expect you are planning the next trip by now!
I must make time to get back to Edinburgh City Archives - it is such a pity their opening days do not fit around my work days....

Best wishes
Lesley

I"m hoping to get back up sometime around 12th November - we have a study break for students and it gives a chance to do things. But the 9th and 10th have already been packed full of meetings and suchlike at work...
