Taking Genealogy just too far

Post by Jamboesque » Fri Aug 21, 2009 9:19 am

Hi Folks,

In going back through my family, I have discovered that The Groat side of my ancestors moved from Westray in the Orkneys to Stronsay in about 1780-1800.
With the OPR’s only available from 1733 I’m not going to get back much farther, so there is little chance of me finding out if this statue http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland ... 212074.stm

Is of my GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGranny

Or is there????

Jack
I'd like to be apathetic but I really can't be bothered.

Looking for blacksheep & not finding any with
Groats & Stevensons in Orkney, Hood's in Dundee/Angus, Mclaren's in Clackmannan and Jolly's in Kincardineshire. There may be more!
