thanks Trish
until i get word back from South Africa i think this is possibly the man ,although on the 1891 census i got him working as a printer , he maybe has gone to Kimberly as Miner and joined the newspaper over there ,
at this stage i am thinking he is the Son of James and Mary Ann Stewart m/s Martin,
but i cant find a death for them as yet , not sure what else to look for at this stage , wondering if any members of the Family went with him , could be why i am getting nothing on the parents
be grateful for any help
thanks loads

Hi JustJan

I will have a look at the other guy in 1872, see what his occupation was, also check out the other names you posted in your reply.

is that a James ? Trish , wonder if he went over with a brother ,
seems at 29 you would have expected him to be married ,
