Update to TalkingScot forum software

Post by AndrewP » Thu Oct 15, 2009 1:02 am

Hi All,

Please note that there is a plan to upgrade the TalkingScot forum to a new version of the forum software this weekend. It should be done early on Sunday 18 October morning (UK time). It will involve the forum being closed for a few hours.

There are many advantages on the Admin and Moderating side of the forum, and it will give a fresh look to the TalkingScot forum.

All the best,

AndrewP

As you will see the TalkingScot forum is now running on a new version of the forum software. I hope you like the changes. It may take a bit of getting used to the different layout. If you have any questions about where to find any of the forum features, please ask and we will try and help.

All the best,

AndrewP

I got a wee fright this morning - I had forgotten you were going to upgrade. :o

I'm sure we'll all get used to it quickly (although this is my second attempt at posting - don't know what I did the first time)

I'm sure the new [pinocchio] smilie will be a popular addition.

Well done Andrew.

Annette

It is different. Of course I don't like it. It took me months to get used to the last one - not that I am one to complain, but . .

You can tell it is raining!

Probably by tomorrow I will be wondering what I was 'moaning' about!

Yes, the rain has stoppede and the sun is shining!

I knew it was coming & had a wee sneak preview but I confess I miss the old style.I admit this is more spacious to write in etc but I am not good at change.
I'm sure we will learn to navigate our way around-in fact this version makes it more accessible but have to admit I miss the old version.

Thanks for all your hard work Andrew you are amazing =D> =D> =D> .

It is quite different from the old format. Hopefully in time I'll get used to it, but as of right now I don't like it.

Well done, Andrew. It is different but sometimes we need a change to keep the wee grey cells from disappearing. It keeps us on our toes :!:

Hi Andrew

Like some other folk my grey cells will need a little time to adjust. Especially those connected to my mouse hand. I keep pointing the mouse to where things used to be and getting a momentary blank inside my head when my eyes find nothing. #-o ..or something different there. But old dogs CAN learn new tricks :D
I like the overall look now I'm more familiar with it.
Well done sir =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>
