Update to TalkingScot forum software

Hi All,

Please note that there is a plan to upgrade the TalkingScot forum to a new version of the forum software this weekend. It should be done early on Sunday 18 October morning (UK time). It will involve the forum being closed for a few hours.

There are many advantages on the Admin and Moderating side of the forum, and it will give a fresh look to the TalkingScot forum.

I got a wee fright this morning - I had forgotten you were going to upgrade.

I'm sure we'll all get used to it quickly (although this is my second attempt at posting - don't know what I did the first time)

I'm sure the new smilie will be a popular addition.

It is different. Of course I don't like it. It took me months to get used to the last one - not that I am one to complain, but . .

I knew it was coming & had a wee sneak preview but I confess I miss the old style.I admit this is more spacious to write in etc but I am not good at change.
I'm sure we will learn to navigate our way around-in fact this version makes it more accessible but have to admit I miss the old version.

It is quite different from the old format. Hopefully in time I'll get used to it, but as of right now I don't like it.

Well done, Andrew. It is different but sometimes we need a change to keep the wee grey cells from disappearing. It keeps us on our toes

Hi Andrew

Like some other folk my grey cells will need a little time to adjust. Especially those connected to my mouse hand. I keep pointing the mouse to where things used to be and getting a momentary blank inside my head when my eyes find nothing. ..or something different there. But old dogs CAN learn new tricks
I like the overall look now I'm more familiar with it.
