Post by marilyn morning » Sun Dec 27, 2009 2:24 am

Its Almost HOGMANAY!

"As the long winter nights creep by, Scots look forward to the biggest party on the calendar, when by tradition we defy the darkness to see out the old year and welcome in the new."

TalkingScot will be hosting its annual HOGMANAY Celebration, beginning at midnight GMT 30 December 2009 until 8am GMT on 2 January 2010.
Everyone is welcome to join in on the festivities and a special party room will be in place just in time for the occasion!
Bring along your best Fruitcake, shortbread or black bun to offer to our guests and At the stroke of midnight and in all corners of the world, we'll be raising our dram of whisky and singing "Auld Lang Syne"

As Always

Is is okay to bring "Irish" Cream? I have never heard of a Scot's Cream. :D I will also bring some fruitcake. I am one of those people who actually like a 'good' fruitcake.

I'll likely be popping in and out over the festivities.

I've got my Hogmanay bottle all ready in the cabinet and I've made some shortbread, but I'd give anything for a wee bit of Black Bun, though. Haven't seen any of that for years!

Hi Sheila

Heather Cream sounds great but at only 17% if you intend to offer Hugo a drink best bring him a pint tumbler too :D :D

Mine will be a fine Speyside malt just as it comes out of the bottle, sipped slowly and savoured.

I'll drop in before we head off to a big annual family gathering. I just hope the roads will be good enough for my wife to drive us home - East Kilbride is renowned for having snow when the rest of Scotland has sunshine :?

Mary. Hope to catch one of your visits too. I'll bring the engraved Stewart decanter - filled with a suitable libation of course.

Hmmmm. Same strength as Baileys (Irish cream), a bottle that arrived here in a Christmas present. xmas:razz: Very easily drunk, usually on ice.

All the best,

Andrew
