I have researched my ancestry back to William Wishart born about 1791 in Logie-Pert married May Millar (born about 1793). I can not find May Millar's parent and or William Wishart parent. My family records only state that William's father was named Andrew. I have looked at the census and the parish records. Does ANY family with the name WISHART or MILLAR have additional family records. HELP. Thank you. I can help with the family of WISHART's in kincardineshire after 1800. Hi Jim,
Have you been in touch with Jack Wishart at the Wishart Society (http://www.wishart.org) ? If not, I suggest you send him a message, his database is colossal and will undoubtedly be able to help you out.
Does William's DC say that his father was Andrew? Have you seen it? The index suggests he was born in 1785 (the 1871 census - 1783), I had a note in my own Wishart database to say that an Andrew was his father, but to follow it up as I hadn't seen the evidence as I think I saw the information on an 'online' tree that hadn't quoted sources.
Best of luck,
Hugely distant cousin Scott Wishart
