Can anyone point me to a good English Forum on the web.
One that is nearly as good, but could never really be as good. As our own "Mother of all forums"

Re: English Forums
Hi
Have you tried RootsChat ?
They are a well moderated site with a lot of expertise on each county forum. Like TalkingScot their aim is to guide folks toward discoveries rather than simply offer answers although some of their members are keen to hand over information sometimes.
Its a very friendly forum even though it's much larger than our site. they have some less genealogically orientated side branches too which can be good fun.

Re: English Forums
I would also suggest
B-G Forums
There are people there with a wealth of knowledge about all aspects of Family History. All are very willing to share their expertise, and are very friendly bunch.
I have learned a lot from the site about what resources are available, not just for England, but for world-wide research.
Regards,
maggie

Re: English Forums
I would agree with B-G forums.
It *changed hands* last year . There used to be a lot of snobbery on the site (it also wasnt moderated) and sometimes you felt like an unwelcome guest in a private genealogy club but that dissapeared along with the old *owner* and one or two members going at the same time!
The lady who runs it now runs it like a school ma'm - no messing about ! and there are a handful of members who's knowledge is quite possibly the best you will get on any site or anywhere come to that for help and advice on English genealogy.

Re: English Forums
Would somebody post a link for the B-G forum please? I tried Google, but that link didn't go anywhere. Could just be my browser!

Re: English Forums
Thanks, Andrew!
Worked like a charm! I can see I have some serious reading to do. Good thing I only have one relative to find in England or all of the rest of the housework would get left undone!
