Hello M,
How about expanding all of those abbreviations and giving it a bit of a storyline. Simple folk like myself tend to spend too much time trying to figure out what you intend it all to mean. What sort of record are you seeking, did Archie marry Kathy, and who’s this Iona woman, and so on.
All the best,
Alan

Hi,
I'm also a bit confused. What sort of record are you looking for? Is it the marriage record or something else? It seems that you do have Archibald's marriage and death records, so perhaps you are looking for his birth? Too bad that he died just a few weeks too early for the Statutory Death Register
His parents names would have been given then...
All the best,
Sarah

Hi MGillick,
I'm a descendant (ggg grandson) of your Archibald McA. & Catherine Gilchrist(married Apr1804 @ Kilcalmonnel)through their son
Duncan b. Claonaig. It's been a family mystery as to whether Arch emigrated to Canada as did his wife & children.
I don't have any solid information on Archibald except for his marriage; however, my gg Grandmother's(Agnes Webster) bible which she began in 1860
at the time of her marriage to Duncan McA. notes the death of Catherine in 1860 & lists Archibald's death immediately below that entry as 17Dec1864.....
Agnes had been hired to look after sick Catherine prior to her death.
How does the McArthur family tie in with Gillicks?
Where did you find birth/death & possible parents of Archibald?
I have a fair amount of info on the descendants of Archibald & Catherine.
Get back to me please
