Greetings All
It can be frustrating when you try to make contact with someone who was active on TS forums, but they have not returned to their thread after you added to it, and or, to a PM that you have placed in your OUT BOX for them.
Two contributing reasons for this is that some contributor's do not tick the very last box, on the edit page, when preparing their post. Therefore they do not get an emailed message about the activity on that post OR they have since changed service providers, and the TS address for service, registered when they signed up is no longer active.
If this happens to you, there are some, in house searches, you can do.
1. Click on the user name to the right of the post.
Check the number of posts, when signed on and when last logged on to visit the site. If recently active, that person may just be on holiday. If it is four or five years ago there are some other things you can do.
2. Click on the next entry “Search user’s posts” and a list will appear. Only a few lines of each post come up, so you may have to click on the individual reference, to read the full text.
3. When reviewing the member’s posts you will see a “Search users posts” at the top of the posts, and this can be used to further refine your search for clues. The most important search word to use, could be the word EMAIL Another try could be PHOTO - PHOTOS – CERTIFICATES – CENSUS – Hand writing etc.
On this site if poster’s want to exchange photos they have to make other arrangements. You will then have another member who you know has had personal contact with the person you want contact with, so a PM to the second poster may start the ball rolling for you.
Today I had success when Marilyn Morning made contact for me with “Rab” a person who she posted to, on a forum post in July 2005, re sending Rab photos.
My PM to Rab was lodged in April 2010, and now FEB 2011, I have my reply. Thanks to Marilyn and Rab.

Hi Russell.
I know where my spare daylight hours have gone, the last three and a half weeks. Meticulously cleaning up after the arson, and looking for clues. Fortunately the back and front door concrete steps remain, and across the building two earth stakes (power & telephone) mark the exterior drip line, at the left and right front corners. Just off the centre, is the chimney, with also the roof flashing attached. This giving height, and the pitch of the back roof. One proud brick on the chimney, I discovered was there to support the end of a floor joist. No evidence remains of the corrugated iron makers stamp, and no timbers to study, type, production methods etc.
Staked it all out (9 rooms, long drop, wash house & ground placement) with temporary electric fence wire, and stakes, before taking photos again today. All that remains now, is to rake over the site to help with clearing up the worst of broken glass and nails.

Oh – PS, I’m happy with your call. It was just a way around a problem, I was experiencing, and thought I would share.
