Has anyone had a play? It's been quite speedy all day, although maybe that will change this evening? Aside from finding all my family (very easily), I was pleased to be able to use the schedules to identify faces on a few more old postcards that only had 'bits' of names on them, by looking at neighbours of my Great Grandparents. Very useful!
Have fun,
Scott

Yes having great fun & uncovering a few extra faces thrown in and a better time-scale of how long my Grandpa was out in Africa-gone by 1898 & back by 1911-not around 1901.Thought I had uncovered my secret Uncle but alas no-doubt I will ever find him but at least I know he was born between 1902-1914 unless Grandpa was very precocious & fathered him before he was 14 when he ran off to the army.

Hi Scooter
A few of us got there as the *doors opened* so to speak and we posted on the end of this thread
viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15953&start=15
For me it was a bit of an anti climax. No unknown *boarders* ect...... It looks like earlier life (for my lot) was far more risky and exciting for my reading anyway !

Hi Tracey,
I didn't see that thread

. I could have posted from the comfort of a London bound train whilst discovering the frustration that you can't view images on an iPhone! All in all, I think identifying faces on old postcards was more exciting than discovering family members in the census, none of whom I really learned anything new, although it was nice to see my Granny aged 1 day old.
Cheers!

Hi All,I've been having quite a few successful hits and finding new family members ,some I found entirely by accident when looking for somebody else but this family tree has grown a few more branches, good luck to everyone. Gordon

Hi All
Sadly no sign of my "Invergarry 2". The newscaster tonight, on the topic of the census, mentioned how emigration went into over-drive pre-WW1 so maybe that is the answer. Chap in question served in the war though and his sister died in Scotland so not sure . . . . .
Lots more to try though and it was a buzz to get on so easily.

How sweet and good timing ! I just wanted to see what sir name my grandfather had be it the one he was born with or the one we have now

also my grandmother to see if she was under her real dads name (he died) or her step dads name just to see when they *adopted* his name - and it wasnt in 1911 !. Still none the wiser as to my gt grandmothers husband, he isnt on it. Oh well, only ten more years to wait to see if shes a widow by then !
