Re: Leythbard Barony Glasgow
Hi TDH,
This looks to be located in a single ancestral file on FamilySearch and thus is user-contributed, rather than extracted from the records. My best guess is that it is a mis-reading of some difficult handwriting that said, possibly, Blythwood (the closest I can come to a real church in the area with all the correct letters in the right place!)
All the best,
Sarah

Hi TDH,
Like Sarah I would say it is read wrongly to the IGI .
I would invest in a certificate off Scotland's People to see what it says.
There are several for this name in the OPR Births and Marriages

Best one I ever found on IGI has to be a place in Fife transcribed as Funfermline!
(it should have read Dunfermline, of course)

Wonder if it should beLeythbard Barony Glasgow
Lightburn is a district in the Scottish city of Glasgow. It is situated north of the River Clyde. It takes its name from the Light Burn which flows through the area, mostly in culvert.

Re: Leythbard Barony Glasgow
Hello
I live in Glasgow. I agree with previous poster this likely to be Lightburn. I have some members on my tree who were in Lightburn around the same time. They were coal miners and from what I've established from Statistical Accounts there were several coal mines in the area at the time. There is an old map of Galsgow - it might be on the National Library of Scotland Maps section website - with Lightburn showing. From that you should be able to pin-point it on a modern day map.

It is most definitely LIGHTBURN as I had a look at one of your births and it is clear as day.

Clear as mud to me, and not even April 1st. Sorry Maureen I could not resist. The things we say, and then expect those to whom English is a second language, to understand. Alan.
