Hi Cherel

Can you give us the names and precise date for the marriage please? Where have you seen this name written - was it on the OPR or was it a transcription?

Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Cherel:

Scroll down this page to settlements and Dalbeg is listed there. http://www.scottish-places.info/feature ... s1067.html

Hi Cherel,

Hopefully this is the right Dalbeg that I have found. See the following map.

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=13 ... 39580&lm=0

From Stornoway, pass the arrowhead in the centre of the map and go to the Atlantic coast and you will find what I believe to be Dail Beag (presumably anglicised to Dalbeg). If I have found the right translation in my dictionary it means small field or plain.

All the best,
