Private Message query

Post by GeorgiaL » Mon Jun 13, 2011 2:08 pm

I got an email from TalkingScot saying I had a private message from someone. But when I logged in, there is no such message. Any idea what could have happened?

Hi Georgia,

It may be that the sender changed their mind after sending it. Unlike an e-mail, so long as you have not yet opened it, the sender can have a change of mind and delete it, and it disappears from your inbox too. At the time it was sent the notification would go out to you, but that cannot be retrieved.

All the best,

AndrewP

I just remembered - I was originally registered under a different user name. I had to re-register using this ID when I forgot the original user name. THe missing PM has been sent to the old name - mystery solved.

I'm hijacking this post to make a public apology to members who have sent me a PM to which I have not replied!!

I found a few (dating back quite a bit) in my saved box tonight that I have never read. So I wasn't really ignoring you I was just completely unaware that I had received them.

Off to have a clear out now. :D

Regards,
A very  Annette
