can't find Margaret Barclay

Post by winger » Mon Jul 04, 2011 11:47 pm

Hi, I wonder if anyone could help me find Margaret Barclay - I know she would have been born around 1811 using her marriage certificate to Andrew Bell in 1834 in St. Cuthberts - this is the family on the 1841 Census for Barony. I have been unable to find the family on the 1851 Census.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Surname First name(s) Sex Age Occupation Where Born Remarks
BELL Margt F 30 Widow Outside Census County (1841)
BELL Andrew M 5 Outside Census County (1841)
BELL Wm M 2 Outside Census County (1841)
BELL Ann F 4m Outside Census County (1841)
BARCLAY Elizabeth F 50 Independent Outside Census County (1841)
MORRISON Thos M 30 Waiter Outside Census County (1841)

Her daughter Ann marries in 1861 and both parents are listed as dead. I would appreciate any suggestions!
thanks in advance for your help

There is a death of a Margaret Bell ,other surname Barclay
between 1841 and 1854 on the 1855 records on SP.

Have you ruled that one out?

Hi, thanks for getting back to me - after I posted this message I went and had another look at the 1851 census - and I found her children living with the Taylor family - so another line to check - I will have a look at the death for Margaret and hopefully it will be her! thanks again for taking the time to reply.
