Re: Lost Edinburgh
This is a fantastic page Lesley. Have spent hours going through the photos, found one of my Granny's backgreen and a painting of a family home in fountainbridge which brought back many lovely memories.
thanks

Re: Lost Edinburgh
Lost Edinburgh has just disappeared from Facebook. Nothing sinister, I hope.

Re: Lost Edinburgh
My two guesses:
1) there had been complaints about copyright violation regarding many of the pics, and the page owners have removed it, temporarily, to tidy this up;
2) they have realised, with over 20,000 followers in the space of a few days, that they might have hit upon a money-making idea, and are now having a good think about it.

Re: Lost Edinburgh
There is a book Lost Edinburgh by Hamish Goghill 2004 possibly its title derived from Lost Glasgow by Carol Foreman 2002
which could be a problem. They did have a photographer advising them about possible issues with photographs, and they had credited Edinphoto and a couple of other places
pretty sure they are not in it for the money... The Scotsman ran an article on the page so it may have arisen from that ...... Though I read that book titles can NOT be copyrighted
I have seen some forums that run on the same sort of thing lots of photos of derlict buildings or graveyards all done just for the love of it
