At least you wouldn't, or shouldn't, come across too many at the same time with the same name.
On my maternal line there was a tendency to call a child - Fish Fish - I kid you not.

Somebody liked history

Hi Maureen:
I hope they dropped that tendency as they moved into the 20th century! Although, it does make it easy to identify your family

Re: So what shall we call the kids?
You shouldn’t laugh at people’s names, it’s cruel, but not as cruel as the parents who gave them.
Here’s some from FreeBMD.
Births Dec 1849
W*LK*NS, Happy Always - Dursley 11316
Births Sep 1860
J*NES, Happy Knights - W London 1c47
Births Mar 1875
Ch*rch, Happy Clam - Bosmere 4a608
Births Dec 1866
Byw*t*r, Sir E A E H C H K H - Dudley 6c80
Happy was/is much more popular in England than it was/is in Scotland. The last one only has initials for the middle names.
All the best,
Alan

That cheered me up I reckon they were trying to have their children stand out from all the John's,Mary's & James's.
I thought Fish Fish was a wind-up though!

At least we now know that unusual naming is not just a modern day "Celeb" fad.
I think I would rather see the Julius Caesars than some of the modern concoctions
like naming their children after car models or overrated sports people.

I'm presuming it's Princess Louise daughter of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Then Duchess of Argyll but not THAT Duchess of Argyll.

Re: So what shall we call the kids?
I would assume she was Queen Louise (of Prussia) as all the other names are of historic value.
Would love to know what the parents background was for them to have chosen those names.
Maybe I will do some hunting and see what comes up . Be a change from my
