You should be thankful it isnt and English cerificate at £9.25 a pop
and a wait of anything from 2 - 8 weeks only to find it isnt the right one !
If the marriage you are looking is within the TS guidelines (which i suspect it is as it was available on SP (?) for you to download), why not give the names and see if one of out super slueths cant find something for you ?

Re: credits wasted-boo
oh that is alot of money and no the right one. sorry that happened to you too.
I cant belive it, its the names but not the right people.
names are
Willaim cowan born 1885 Kilmarnock
dead 1956
Margaret shaw
1885 Irvine
died 1956
seems odd both born same year but i was told died within 10 days apart.
kids were
annie
elizabeth
grretta
jenny
mary
willie
alexander
james
the one I pulled up said they were born in 1900 but that she was 22 and he was 19 which makes no sense and also says her name was margaret CORE shaw but i think she was a margaret CLARKE shaw
this paper says he is a willima CHARLES but I belive he is a WILLIAM waters.
but when you key it in, this is all I get.I wonder if somehow i have the wrong birth years but I dont think so as they were noted in a story about their son ALEXANDER he was a shipwright on a special ship and was a wee known celebrity in Irvine where he died at age 94 a few years ago.

Re: credits wasted-boo
I know you have Ancestry at the moment so search 'Military' and enter William Waters Cowan and you will find his service record, and date of marriage in 1904. It also lists his children and their dob.
When you're searching at SP put Maggie instead of Margaret and just William Cowan.
Regards,
Annette

The service record has more than one page - the marriage and children's details are on the 2nd. Click the forward arrow at the top of the page.gwennypenny wrote:Thank you I found the military! THANKYOU
